## My Story

### How a Car Accident Changed My Path

While on my way to start teachers college in 1995, I had a car accident and fractured two lumbar vertebrae leading to severe back pain. The medical specialist I saw at the time said the only way to get rid of the pain would be to fuse the two fracture vertebrae. I sensed that there must be another option and for the first time in my life, I sought out complimentary medical treatments including physiotherapy, chiropractic, naturopathy and acupuncture. I also started yoga. My back pain went away and many of my other health issues did as well. I was now very interested in complimentary medicine.

#### Working as a Naturalist Introduced me to the Healing Power of Plants

Over the time described above, I was working as a naturalist for Parks Canada in Banff and Yoho National Parks. I became interested in the healing power of plants and began studying herbal medicine by correspondence through Wild Rose College in Calgary, AB. After finishing the course, I was intrigued and wanted to know more.

#### Back to School at 29

I knew that if I wanted to shift my work to complimentary medicine, I was going to need to take a proper training course. So, I applied, enrolled in and completed 1st year studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario. It was at CCNM that I learned more about the power of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I transferred schools and completed another 4 years of study at the Academy of Oriental Sciences (ACOS) in Nelson, BC. I graduated in 2005 with honors and was awarded the Citizenship Award for outstanding community volunteer work.

#### 20 + Years Experience

I began my practice in Nelson, BC and then moved to Vancouver in 2011, adding North Vancouver a few years later. I focused my practice on supporting women in all stages of life and am so grateful to have helping thousands of clients achieve their health goals over the past 20 years. I look forward to supporting you!

This photo is me and my family hiking in the Italy. I thrive when I spend lots of time outside moving in nature. I fuel my spirit in summer by hiking in forests and mountains and swimming in the ocean. In winter I love ice skating to 70's tunes at Shipyards ice rink and gliding over snowy, white trails on cross country and downhill skiis at Cypress Mountain.

### Cooking & Eating Good Food

I have a passion for local, organic foods and grow kale, carrots, chard, tomatoes and more in my backyard garden. I makes her own gluten-free granola & strawberry jam and I bake a peach pie at least once every summer.

### Relaxing

-knitting hats, socks & sweaters

-weeding my garden

-photographing flowers

-baking
-meditating
-lying on my deck in the sun reading

-walking & laughing about life with

dear, honest friends

### Enjoying My Family

My partner Eddy & I mostly homeschooled our amazing son Finn to the end of grade 7 and then he enrolled in actual high school.

I love hiking, skiing, cooking, watching movies and travelling with this little family of mine.

From these two, I have learned deep love.
